I want to wish a very happy marriage to both Rosie & Jimi, it was a pleasure capturing your special day and I have no doubt in my mind that you both will have a fantastic future.
A story about Rosie & Jimi
Just like every great modern love story it started with a swift swipe right on cupids greatest invention, Tinder. Whether it was Jimi’s good looks or smooth chat up lines he managed to capture the attention of Rosie.
Once Jimi mustered the courage to ask Rosie on a date he did what every man would do, he came down with man flu and rescheduled the date for the following week.
Going back to their first date, Jimi took Rosie for food at Bills and later, in her words, “got me very merry on the cocktails” (bold Jimi) at the Brick room in Friar Street, Worcester. Like the gentleman Jimi is he nominated himself as designated driver for the night while Rosie had all the fun. Fortunately, this turned out to be a wise decision as luck would have it because later that night, they were pulled over by the police.
The officer requested that Jimi take a breathalyser test to prove that he wasn’t drinking and like the honest gentleman that he is, he came out clean. The officer confronted Jimi, “Is this your girlfriend”. To which he replied, “No it’s our first date and it WAS going very well, until now”. (cheeky)
Needless to say, it was a very memorable first encounter. One of which nobody else will ever encounter but them.
Almost three years later, Jimi decided to take Rosie down memory lane and bring her back to the very spot they had their first date. It was at this moment he decided that this was going to be the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. And there was no better place to bring her to propose than the place they had their first date, the Brick Room. Rosie still remembers how special the Brick Room is to her.
It’s not often that people find someone they want to spend the rest of their lives with. In the case of Rosie and Jimi this was no accident. Over the years, they had built a life together. A life that they decided is going to be one worth living a 1000 times over. How can one know when they’ve found their significant other? You can’t ever know, you just feel it. In the case of Jimi & Rosie this was during a long walk along the coast in San Antonio at around 4am in the morning for Rosie’s birthday.
During their stroll, Rosie felt overwhelmed and thanked Jimi for “making her day” to which Jimi stopped her dead in her tracks, “I’ve made your day but you’ve made my life. Everything is amazing with you”.
Moments like these are completely uncalculated, undetermined and unpredictable but are the moments when you know exactly, you’ve won the lottery. You’ll never know what life will throw at you but you’ll know it when you feel it. After months of dating, they knew that every time they saw each other they just loved being together. Nothing was hard work and in Rosie’s words, “loving Jimi was effortless”.
Just like everything in life, it comes in 3 stages;
The moment you meet.
The moment you realise.
The moment you call it quits.
Collectively, they both decided there was no better suit for them than each other. After 4 kids, 3 dogs, a house and a van to renovate (according to Rosie’s best friend Helen) all that was left for them to do was to tie the knot and call it quits. After chatting with their friends on the day, one thing is for certain, they both know how to parent and live life to the max. As I personally witnessed myself during my time capturing their special day.
Jimi & Rosie, the day was absolutely beautiful, fun and most importantly memorable but in case you forget 20 years down the line just open the wedding album and have a walk down memory lane. It was a pleasure to capture every moment of your special day and an even greater pleasure to share a laugh with your friends. I wish you all the best in the future.
